World ending 'cause we aren't entertaining assholes enough, demons are shitty landlords, Hurricane's--gone...

[her voice catches, a little]

--A-anyways, I went for a run after that, and got--turned around. Didn't think I'd missed so much other stuff, too.

[ oh fuck. He wasn't at the live-- she was wondering...

There's barely a moment of hesitation before she reaches over and gently squeezes her arm, shifting closer until she's leaned up against her. ]

Hey... better you missed it, honestly. Everything's pretty awful. But we're gonna get through this, i'm positive.

... I'm sorry about Hurricane. He's gonna turn up soon, yeah?

[Doesn't relax against her, but doesn't pull away]

...Sure. Maybe.

[a breath]

Sorry you got messed up. That's no fun either.

He will. Absolutely.

[ that's okay. She's fine just being something solid there. ]

Nah. Stop worrying about me, it's your turn. What can I do? For you.

[pauses, looking over to req before looking away again]

Uh, I mean, you don't have to do anything in particular. If you wanna play your guitar or read or sleep or whatever you'd usually be doing, that's fine.

... I can play. Wanna listen?

[ it's something else to concentrate on anyway. She shifts only a little, to grab her bass and set it in her lap, but still sort of slouches a bit against nem's side.

She plucks idly at it, tuning. ]

You should try to get some sleep soon though. Just a little.

[hums noncommittally]

...What're you gonna play?

What am I gonna play for Nemesis. Hmm...

[ starts up a slow, steady tune, aimless for a bit before it settles into something more even.

She keeps her voice soft when she sings, closing her eyes. ]

...My girl, my girl, don't lie to me, tell me where did you sleep last night?

[snorts lightly but doesn't interrupt, just rests her head on her folded arms and listens]

In the pines, in the pines, where the sun don't ever shine...

[ if u got a nirvana problem we can chat later, girly

but she just continues singing and playing, quiet. ]

[she doesn't show any sign of recognizing the song, but starts tapping her thumb on the long beats]

[ eventually that ends, and she slows her playing as she thinks, before continuing onto another song. and after that, just idly plucking at the strings to take a break, before picking up where she left off... and so on and so forth, everything nice and slow and easy. ]

[She gets it--she knows Req's game and does not appreciate being so easily played, but the music--her playing is soothing, and now that she's sitting, she's just so tired. So she doesn't even make a decent protest as she feels herself begin to drift, leaning more heavily against Requiem]

[ I'M NOT GONNA JAM OUT IN AN EMPTY BUILDING WHILE DEMON-POSSESSED IDIOTS ARE OUT WANDERING ABOUT, PLEASE, this isn't JUST about getting you to fuckin rest

But honestly, she's also. exhausted. she notices nem leaning more, but doesn't falter in her playing, letting her voice drift off and just concentrating on slow, soft beats and curling up just enough to rest her head on her shoulder. and once she's fairly sure nem has drifted a bit, she slows to a stop, and floats her bass gently to lay flat on the floor beside her, so she can let herself drift off too. ]

[wow, we could've totally curbstomped some early morning demonangels, probably maybe]

[At any rate, she hums a bit at the contact, but seems to take no issue with it. It has been a very long day and resting is nice...]

[ or get curbstomped by. again, in my case,

it's time for a nap now. req'll stay curled up against her until she stirs, at any rate. ]

[coulda been a contender!]

[there's probably a good hour or so before she jerks herself awake, but for now she stays calm and quiet, breath even.]

[ well. an hour is better than nothing.

the jerk gets a startled flinch from req, but. after a moment of bleary staring she honestly just curls up again, shoving herself under the edge of the blanket, mumbling. ]

... like another ten at least.

[The words seem to ground her some. She settles enough to adjust where her glasses have smushed into her face, then curls back forward around her knees, still.]

[ she dozes for a while longer, seemingly ignorant of nem's movements, before eventually shifting enough to turn her head and yawn. relaxing back against her... ugh, her neck hurt. ]

S'the sun up yet...?

[Hums a no, shaking her head.]

Go back t'sleep, 'sstill early.

You too, though.

[ she unleans for a moment or two to stretch, with a groan, before sleepily flopping back against her.

... and take her glasses off. you're gonna break em ]

Can play more, if y'want.

[reaches out after her glasses to no avail against req's longer reach. instead hesitates, then prods at her side]

...Just lie down, will ya?

[ she neatly folds them and puts them next to her bass, safe and sound. and squirms slightly under the poking, but mostly just kind of puts all her weight against nem's side and sleepily teases; ]

We gonna cuddle? Sure~
